Memorandum for carrying on the work of the Supreme Court while the Chief Justice is away from the Colony.
Sir,
I should be glad to add a few words.

The Supreme Court, Hong Kong, March 31st 1859.
It will be necessary for me to get as much relief from work as possible during the approaching Summer. Indeed, I have been on occasions of late unable, from pressure of blood on the head, to give that fixed attention which is necessary for the due discharge of my duties. Tendency to illness of this kind will most probably increase with the heat.
